Thursday March 13

As we prepare for our Matilda Act 1 Run Through on March 23, we’re excited to reach this first big milestone! It’s a wonderful opportunity for our cast to see their hard work come to life, and to celebrate this moment, we’d love to invite your family to join our TCP family for a potluck dinner that evening from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

Please bring a dish to share, and kindly provide an ingredient list so we can identify any potential allergens – we do have cast members with gluten, tree nut and seafood allergies.

A few reminders for the potluck:

  • Bring your own plate and cutlery – no disposable utensils will be available.
  • We have a microwave and fridge available, as well as plugs for slow cookers, instant pots, rice cookers, etc.
  • Don’t forget a serving spoon for your dish!
  • Bring a drink to enjoy with your meal if you would like one.

We look forward to celebrating together and enjoying a wonderful meal with all of you. See you on March 23!

Saturday February 1st

Hey Everyone
The entire creative team cannot wait to have you all with us for our table read tomorrow! Just a few things to note for tomorrow:

  1. We will start promptly at 1:30 with introductions from the TCP leadership team, so we recommend you come a little early – especially those of you who still need to pick up your scripts
  2. If you have not filled out the policy form please be sure to do so before tomorrow:  Policy Form
  3. Parents you are welcome to stay for introductions tomorrow! When the table read begins you will be asked to leave as all rehearsals are closed and for the cast & creative team only.
  4. Our photographer is feeling much better and will be taking headshots tomorrow! She will grab people, when they are not reading, to take your headshots!
  5. Our head of costumes, Akenaz, will be there tomorrow to take official measurements so that they can get started on costumes! Again they will pull people during the table read.
  6. After the table read is done you are welcome to leave, as we are not going to start to learn anything till Thursday (please be sure to log onto Backstage to see the schedule)
Now let’s talk shoes!
  • For the littles + youth ensemble:
Please wear black Converse with white accents! These can be knock-offs, high tops, the shorter style, whatever! If you are questioning if something is the right style, feel free to ask! 🙂
  • For the adult ensemble:
Women – please wear character shoes (there is a great store in Kitchener if you need some: https://www.freestyle-dancewear.com/)
Men – please wear black dress shoes
  • Leads: I will connect with you as to what kind of shoes you will need, as they might be different from the ensemble members!

Again, we cannot wait to see you all tomorrow, and are so excited to bring this magical story to life with all of you!

YOU ROCK
Hannah

Saturday January 25th

Dear Company!

This will be one of my final emails as all communication will now come from your Stage Manager, Rai. Please ensure you’re checking for updates regularly to stay informed. 🙂

We’re excited to share that we’ll have Matilda merchandise available for purchase! Attached, you’ll find a sizing chart and a mockup of the design. If you’d like to order, please bring your completed form and payment to rehearsal. Order forms are due by February 9th. Production and Orchestra Managers, please send to your teams and email me regarding submitting!

Here’s what you need to know for Script Pickup on Thursday, January 30th (6:30–9:30): Cast Only!

  1. Participation and Script Fees:
Please bring $15 for your participation fee and $25 for your script (CASH ONLY). The script fee will be refunded at the end of the run once your script is returned in good condition.

  2. Headshots:
Please wear a black shirt for headshots. You may wear makeup and style your hair if you’d like, though it’s not required. We’re aiming for a fun feel with these headshots to match the energy of the show! Bring your character to life by giving us a face that shows how they might react if their picture were taken.

We’re looking forward to seeing your creativity shine in these photos! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Rai or myself.

Thanks for your hard work and dedication—we’re in for an amazing show!
