HOW DO I GET TO THE NEW HAMBURG ARENA?

Below is a google map to our performance venue at the New Hamburg Arena – 251 Jacob St.

*Please note that Google has displayed Jacob St. as Jacobs St.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE THEATRE?

There is no formal dress code enforced in our theatre. Most of the people you will see in the audience will probably be dressed in a “business casual” style. Sometimes the New Hamburg arena can be a bit cool, so you may want to bring a sweater along, just in case.

PERFUMES & COLOGNES

WE ASK THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM WEARING STRONG PERFUMES AND COLOGNES INSIDE THE THEATRE, as a courtesy to those around you, especially those that suffer from allergies.

WHERE CAN I EAT?

New Hamburg and the surrounding area boast some of Waterloo Region’s best restaurants. From casual to fine dining, we encourage you to take advantage of our area’s hospitality!

In conjunction with this year’s show, some our partner restaurants have adjusted hours or are offering special deals. For more info click here

For more information on New Hamburg, please visit www.newhamburg.ca

HOW EARLY MUST I ARRIVE?

We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the show, which is when the house usually opens. This will allow you suitable time to park your car, arrive at the theatre, and comfortably find your seat.

LATECOMERS

Should you arrive after the show has begun, you will be asked to wait until a suitable break in the performance before being seated

WILL I HAVE A GOOD SEAT?

TCP’s seating is in three levels: floor level at the front, raised midway back and raised further at the very back. Truth be told, there’s not a bad seat in the house. Even if you find yourself near the back, you’ll be less than 80 feet from the stage, so you’ll be guaranteed a great view.

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

Different shows have different running times. Theatrical performances of this nature usually run around two and a half hours.

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE?

TCP shows are always billed and encouraged as family entertainment and we usually have children in the cast. This being said, live theatre, regardless of the show, may not be enjoyed by younger children. If you are in doubt about bringing a child to any particular production, please ask before buying tickets. Please be aware that if your child creates a disturbance during the performance, you may be asked to leave the auditorium. VERY YOUNG CHILDREN AS WELL AS BABIES ARE NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE THEATRE.

DOES MY CHILD NEED A TICKET? CAN HE SIT ON MY LAP?

Everyone in a live theatre audience, regardless of age, must have an assigned seat and a ticket. This is the case even if the child sits in your lap instead of in their assigned seat.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

Current prices for TCP shows are
ADULTS – $28.00
SENIORS/STUDENTS – $26.00
(65 and over, High School, College, University with valid and current school I.D.)
CHILDREN – $18.00 (13 and under)
GROUP RATES – 10% Discount on 20 or more tickets purchased (see specific details in Group Rates Section below.)

*please note each ticket purchased online or over the phone will be subject to a $1.50 per ticket order fee.

CHECK YOUR TICKETS FOR ACCURACY

It is always a good idea to double check your tickets, both when you are ordering them, as well as when you print and receive them. This will ensure that no error was made at the time of ordering and that they are in fact the tickets for the correct date that you intended to see the performance. While sometimes errors do happen, we want to ensure that you have the best possible theatre experience. Always check your tickets

DO I NEED TO HAVE MY CURRENT AND VALID STUDENT I.D. FOR PURCHASING STUDENT TICKETS?

YES. Be prepared to show your current and valid student I.D. when you are purchasing these tickets in person, picking up your tickets at the box office or before entering the theatre.

WHAT ABOUT GROUP RATES?

A 10% discount is available for groups of 20 or more. Please note that to qualify,
20 or more tickets must be purchased at the same time, and for the same performance. For more information, please call our infoline at 519-662-4532.

MAY I TAKE PICTURES OF THE SHOW?

No, strict copyright agreements forbid this! Cameras, video cameras and any other sound or image-recording devices are all forbidden in theatres. Bring one in and attempt to use it and you will be asked to leave the theatre immediately. Any photos taken will be confiscated and destroyed.

MAY I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?

No, outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the theatre. A full concession area is available at the theatre including bottled water, pop, snacks and ice cream treats. While certain snacks are available inside the theatre during intermission, only bottled water is permitted inside the theatre during the performance.

DO I HAVE TO BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE, OR CAN I BUY THEM WHEN I COME TO THE THEATRE?

There is no requirement that you purchase advance tickets. You can buy your tickets at the box office as you enter the theatre, but you will be gambling that seats will still be available. Many performances sell out well in advance, and you may find your seating choices very limited, if any seats remain at all.

IS YOUR THEATRE WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, we can accommodate numerous wheelchairs. We do, however, need to know that the ticket you are purchasing is for a wheelchair. Specific areas throughout the theatre are designated for wheelchairs.

I AM HEARING-IMPAIRED. DOES YOUR THEATRE OFFER AMPLIFICATION?

Unfortunately, our theatre does not offer enhanced equipment for the
hearing-impaired. If this is a concern, please let us know and we will seat you in the best possible hearing location.

WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE SHOW? CAN I GET A REFUND OR EXCHANGE MY TICKETS FOR ANOTHER DATE?

Sorry, but the answer is no. Reserved-seat ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY TICKETS?

Tickets, once issued, cannot be reissued; they are like cash and cannot be reprinted. Please keep your tickets in a safe place. In the event that you were given a receipt when you purchased your tickets we may be still able to seat you at the theatre so as a backup be sure to retain a copy of your receipt as well.

WILL YOU RESERVE SEATS FOR ME BY PHONE OR EMAIL? I WILL PAY WHEN I COLLECT THE TICKETS.

No, sorry, we cannot do this. Tickets are not “reserved” until purchased.
