WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE THEATRE?

There is no formal dress code enforced in our theatre. Most of the people you will see in the audience will probably be dressed in a “business casual” style. Sometimes the New Hamburg arena can be a bit cool, so you may want to bring a sweater along, just in case.

PERFUMES & COLOGNES

WE ASK THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM WEARING STRONG PERFUMES AND COLOGNES INSIDE THE THEATRE, as a courtesy to those around you, especially those that suffer from allergies.

WHERE CAN I EAT?

New Hamburg and the surrounding area boast some of Waterloo Region’s best restaurants. From casual to fine dining, we encourage you to take advantage of our area’s hospitality!

HOW EARLY MUST I ARRIVE?

We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the show, which is when the house usually opens. This will allow you suitable time to park your car, arrive at the theatre, and comfortably find your seat.

LATECOMERS

Should you arrive after the show has begun, you will be asked to wait until a suitable break in the performance before being seated. For shows taking place in the Studio Theatre (Fall shows) latecomers will not be admitted, due to the intimate nature of the performance venue.

WILL I HAVE A GOOD SEAT?

TCP’s seating configuration ensures that you have an excellent seat no matter where you’re sitting. In addition to floor level seats, we also have 7 different levels of raised seating that begin midway back to allow for great sight lines to the stage. Truth be told, there’s not a bad seat in the house. Even if you find yourself near the back, you’ll be less than 80 feet from the stage, so you’ll be guaranteed a great view.

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

Different shows have different running times. Theatrical performances of this nature usually run around two and a half hours.

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE?

TCP shows are always billed and encouraged as family entertainment and we usually have children in the cast. This being said, live theatre, regardless of the show, may not be enjoyed by younger children. If you are in doubt about bringing a child to any particular production, please ask before buying tickets. Please be aware that if your child creates a disturbance during the performance, you may be asked to leave the auditorium. VERY YOUNG CHILDREN AS WELL AS BABIES ARE NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE THEATRE.

DOES MY CHILD NEED A TICKET? CAN HE SIT ON MY LAP?

Everyone in a live theatre audience, regardless of age, must have an assigned seat and a ticket. This is the case even if the child sits in your lap instead of in their assigned seat.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

Tickets prices vary based on the show type and venue please consult the tickets page for the most accurate information.

CHECK YOUR TICKETS FOR ACCURACY

It is always a good idea to double check your tickets, both when you are ordering them, as well as when you print or receive them. This will ensure that no error was made at the time of ordering and that they are in fact the tickets for the correct date that you intended to see the performance. While sometimes errors do happen, we want to ensure that you have the best possible theatre experience.

MAY I TAKE PICTURES OF THE SHOW?

No, strict copyright agreements forbid this! Cameras, video cameras and any other sound or image-recording devices are all forbidden in theatres. Bring one in and attempt to use it and you will be asked to leave the theatre immediately. Any photos taken will be confiscated and destroyed.

MAY I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?

No, outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the theatre. A full concession area is available at the theatre including bottled water, pop, snacks and ice cream treats. While certain snacks are available inside the theatre during intermission, only bottled water is permitted inside the theatre during the performance.

DO I HAVE TO BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE, OR CAN I BUY THEM WHEN I COME TO THE THEATRE?

There is no requirement that you purchase advance tickets. You can buy your tickets at the box office as you enter the theatre, but you will be taking a risk that seats will still be available. Many performances sell out well in advance, and you may find your seating choices very limited, if any seats remain at all.

IS YOUR THEATRE WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, we can accommodate numerous wheelchairs. We do, however, need to know that the ticket you are purchasing is for a wheelchair. Specific areas throughout the theatre are designated for wheelchairs.

I AM HEARING-IMPAIRED. DOES YOUR THEATRE OFFER AMPLIFICATION?

Unfortunately, our theatre does not offer enhanced equipment for the hearing-impaired. If this is a concern, please let us know and we will seat you in the best possible hearing location.

WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE SHOW? CAN I GET A REFUND OR EXCHANGE MY TICKETS FOR ANOTHER DATE?

Sorry, but the answer is no. Reserved-seat ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY TICKETS?

Tickets, once issued, can be reissued by email, or reprinted at the box office. If you’ve lost your tickets please contact us at tickets@thecommunityplayers.com

WILL YOU RESERVE SEATS FOR ME BY PHONE OR EMAIL? I WILL PAY WHEN I COLLECT THE TICKETS.
